Foundation Programs

We provide foundation programmes for Technical English, Mathematics, Physics and IT. All classrooms are equipped with cutting edge educational technology and software, and course objectives are met using modern teaching methodology. Our student-centred approach fosters independent learning, and our overall objective is to help students graduate and acquire the required skills to excel in their chosen field of aviation. All students are tested at the point of entry to determine the appropriate programme required.

Technical English

  • Technical – Aviation

    Technical English for Aviation is designed to prepare students to be fully competent in Aviation basics and is designed for Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers and Meteorologists. The course is taught from an assortment of aviation related sources but uses Oxford’s Aviation English to deliver the key vocabulary and terminology. Aviation English is conducted in a classroom equipped with Smart technology.

  • Technical – Engineering

    Technical English for Engineers is designed to prepare students to be fully competent in the basic language of engineering and is designed for ground avionics and Mechanical Engineers. The course is taught from an assortment of engineering related sources but uses Garnet Education’s Take Off to deliver the key vocabulary and terminology. Engineering English is conducted in a classroom equipped with Smart Technology.

  • Pre-Intermediate

    Pre-Intermediate level is aimed at further developing learner’s English language and improving their critical thinking and study skills. The course is designed to take students from A2 to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Pre-Intermediate level Grammar and Vocabulary: Revision of present simple and continuous and past simple tenses. Introduction to future forms, plans and intentions, together with perfect, continuous and conditional structures. Further development of use of articles, prepositional phrases, comparative forms and quantifiers. Routines and activities. Descriptions of people and places. Holidays, health, products and technologies. Skills: Reading, listening and speaking skills mirroring the structures and lexis described. Development of Writing elements, processes and genre.

  • Intermediate

    Intermediate level is aimed at advancing learner’s English language towards preparing to sit their IELTS exam whilst continuing to improve their critical thinking and study skills. The course is designed to take students from B1 towards B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

     

  • Upper Intermediate

    Upper-Intermediate level builds on and refines the foundations of language learning in English achieved at levels up to and including Intermediate. This course advances students into band C on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
